Macrobiotic Christmas Pastries

Ingredients:

1 tbsp ground flaxseed with 3 tbsp of water (egg replacement) 
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
2 tbsp rice syrup
2 tbsp Port wine
Sea salt
1 tsp fennel seed powder
1 tsp baking powder
Spelt or wheat flour (to desired consistency) 

Instructions:
1. Mix all the ingredients, except flour and baking powder, until creamy.
2. Add the flour and baking powder and mix until you can knead with your hands, and get an elastic and smooth dough. Let it rest for 1 hour in a warm place. 
3. Divide the dough into small portions and roll it out with your hands or with the help of a rolling pin. It doesn't have to be too thin. Make two holes in the middle of the dough and fry in very hot oil.

ORANGE SYRUP:

Rice Syrup ( +/- 4 tbsp)
Orange peel
Water (+/- 2 tbsp)

Instructions:
1. Bring the water, rice syrup and orange peel to a boil, let it simmer for a while. 
2. Drizzle on top pf the pastries. You can also sprinkle with cinnamon.
